A GREAT SYMPHONY
— Augmented reality city soundtrack
Young talented Italian and international musicians under the guidance of an extraordinary tutor give life to A Great Symphony, a format created by Xplosiva for British Council: an exclusive soundtrack for the most evocative places in a city. It’s a contemporary electronic music work, which is able through music and technology to give life to an original experiment of augmented reality. Tourists, lovers of art and music as well as the inhabitants of the city can listen to the symphony by simply scanning the QR Codes placed in the respective areas. The project’s Turinese edition was introduced at the same time as Luci d’Artista and it involved as a tutor Steve Goodman aka Kode9, founder of the influential Hyperdub label. A Great Symphony landed also in Milan, with a totem at Porta Garibaldi station, and has involved 18 artists from every part of Europe.
